Zephyr Farm is proudly woman-led, offering fresh vegetables, herbs, and free range eggs that are non-GMO and raised without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. The chickens are cage-free and roam through farm pastures on bi-weekly rotations.

Michele Kosloski manages the farm operations according to environmentally sustainable best practices, integrating the health of the land, produce, insects, animals, workers, and consumers that comprise Zephyr Farm.

nikki lee

nikki lee joined the Zephyr Farm team in 2020. They are passionate about growing food and connecting to community. On the farm, you can find them doing just about anything, from seeding to harvesting, maintaining the website and social media, and giving lots of loving scratches to anyone who needs some. nikki is also at the Hope Street Market every week—come say hi!

Before Zephyr Farm, nikki enjoyed a career in arts education. They are active in the regional dance community. nikki is also a photographer who frequently collaborates with dance artists in the area.

Addy aka “Puds”

Addy has been working on Zephyr Farm since 2011. She was rescued from a harder life in Tennessee. Her main jobs on the farm include catching voles, moles, mice, and even an occasional groundhog. She loves being part of the team and is never far away, often lounging in her dirt hole to keep cool with all that fur. Her favorite farm products are red peppers which she either nudges you to pick her one or she’ll pick it herself. She also loves snap peas and raw eggs. She’ll eat as many eggs as she can and hide the rest for later. In her off season she loves to play in the snow, bother Charlie, keep Kirby in line, and go hiking.

Charlie aka “Chuckles”

Charlie has been working on Zephyr Farm since 2013. He is a livestock guardian dog (LGD). His main job is to protect our flock of chickens from predators including foxes, coyotes, and hawks (he struggles with the hawks). He loves a good belly rub and chasing any one one dares to pass by the farm. His favorite farm products are eggs and the occasional chicken. He doesn’t really have an off season. Even when it looks like Charlie is fast asleep, he is guarding the farm.

Badger

Badger came to us via the RISPCA (RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). He was part of a special project to train young cats for working on farms and in barns, called the Working Cats Program. Badger sweeps through the greenhouse, hoop houses, and fields, keeping EVERYONE in line—the workers, the dogs, the chickens, and the “unofficial” animals of the farm like mice, voles, and moles. You might see him chasing butterflies in the field, playfully frolicking through rows of Remay rowcover, tracking runaway chickens, and relaxing in the shade. Now and then, he will approach a farmer for a little head scratch, and he enjoys hanging out wherever we are working.

Kirby

Kirby has been working on Zephyr Farm since 2022. When she arrived, she was just a fuzzy little baby pup, and she has grown up with Addy and Charlie as her role models. Kirby wants to be wherever the action is. She loves riding in the gator, herding chickens, and wrestling with Addy. Kirby always wants to help out and be included. Her favorite crops are carrots, sweet peppers, and green beans.
